Renton Mold Removal exists because mold here hides where a crew from dry country would never look: under the floor of a 1950s Highlands rambler, behind the siding of a 1990s two-story on Benson Hill, inside an attic where three bath fans have been exhaling into the insulation for twenty winters. When you call, we put you through to one independent local provider who handles mold removal and remediation in Renton and south King County. That provider walks the house, writes the scope, and does the work, and any contract, price, or warranty is between the two of you.

Damp ground, cold walls, and a sky that stays gray until June

Nearly every Renton house built before 2000 sits on a vented crawl space, and from October through May the air moving through those vents is as wet as the air outside. Add a downspout that ends at the foundation, a bathroom fan that stops at the attic floor, or a single-pane window that sweats every morning, and a house grows mold with no leak at all. On the valley floor the Cedar and Green rivers add a second problem; the King County Flood Control District funds the levees and gauges along both, and a house that took river water in December 2025 has a wet crawl space whether or not the living room ever flooded.

The first visit happens under the house

The provider opens the crawl-space hatch before anything else, then walks the house with a moisture meter and often a thermal camera, marking how far the damp has climbed into the subfloor, the sill plate, and the walls. That mark, not the stain, sets how much comes out. Plastic goes up before the first cut is made. One visit tells you what it needs.

We serve Renton, Kent, Tukwila, Newcastle, Issaquah, Maple Valley, SeaTac, Burien, Covington, Black Diamond, and the Factoria and Eastgate side of Bellevue, including Renton's own neighborhoods from Kennydale and the Highlands down through Talbot Hill, Benson Hill, Cascade, Fairwood, and the others listed on our nearby communities page.

Washington has no mold license, so check the contractor registration instead

Washington does not license mold assessors or remediators. It does require anyone doing construction work for hire, including cutting out and replacing drywall, subfloor, and trim, to register as a contractor with the state Department of Labor and Industries. Providers represent their own training; you can look a company up in L&I's Verify a Contractor tool in a minute and see whether the registration and the bond are active. Ask for a certificate of insurance and a written scope before anyone opens a wall or lifts a floorboard. If a buyer or an insurer wants the house tested, that is separate work by an assessor you hire yourself; the providers on this line do the removal.

Rebuilding after removal often needs a permit, and inside the city that runs through Renton's Permit Services desk; Fairwood, Skyway, and the East Renton Plateau outside the city line go through King County instead. The provider pulls it; you do not.
